Teacher’s Day coming up

Teachers have had a pivotal role in each one of our lives. From Early child, to schools education and Higher Education. Our likes and inclination for subjects and careers have been mostly influenced by passionate teachers, who are passionate and make an impact on their students.

I am a 58 year old person, and involved quite deeply involved in Education at various levels. Looking back I feel the best time I had in my life was until I was a student. Post Education, career priorities and family responsibilities come into play.

Even though, Learning continues, and is lifelong.

Our fondest memories are from our days in school, followed by college and further education. I am fortunate to be living in the same city where I went to school and college, I happen to go in front of it every single day. And every single time it is an “uplifting” and a nostalgic experience.

When I got married, I would take my wife to the school and college, I studied in and talk about our teachers, friends, and incidents. After my daughter was born, and was old enough, I would do the same routine, but no less excitement. Now, I have my grandson with me, I do the same thing with him. I always ask him to point out where his grandfather (myself) studied. Obviously they will not be excited as much I am, but for me unfailingly it brings back fond memories every single time.

Most us have stayed in touch with our teachers and miss those who are no longer with us. But our fond memories and gratitude towards out teachers and the teaching fraternity is forever!
