Viruses are not new. Outbreaks have happened in the past and will happen in the future. Are the current nCOVID-19 pandemic and the consequential suffering and fatalities because of the natures of the mutated virus and also due to reduced immunity levels of the human population? If so, could the reason for low immunity levels be connected with lack of nutrition and ignoring the fundamental concepts of a balanced diet? Nutrition should be a focus area in our education system, as also in our families. Nutrition and age-appropriate balanced diets are largely responsible for our well being, immunity, and our ability to defend against such virus outbreaks. Let us educate and practice this — beginning with our children, and up to our senior citizens.
