The normal of earlier time….to strange normal of today….and efforts to getback to new normal

The normal that was before the nCOVID pandemic was the real normal —  materialistic world, career advancement, schools and colleges… Parents, in a way, outsourced holistic learning and personality development of their children by neglecting good parenting. This has resulted in seeking quick gratification, leading to imprudent spending. It just doesn’t stop there. There are the challenges of pollution, global warming, destruction of natural forests…

We were all going about our lifestyles taking everything for granted. We have abused Mother Nature for too long, and the nCOVID crisis has delivered multiple valuable lessons to mankind in that regard.  The learnings from this crisis should be included in the school education curriculum to make the children fully aware of the challenges, and to help them live their lives in the new normal.

I many times wonder, thinking of our childhood: that, was the normal. Over the decades, we have turned the normal into a dangerous new normal. If we all learn lessons from it, we may at some point go back to what was normal. If our education systems and community education get it right, it could be the normal of the ancient times when we did not live recklessly.

What has happened now is that due to the abnormal lifestyles we have practiced, and in turn abused nature, a crisis has materialised to revert to the usual normal of the earlier era!

We should transform our educational systems to make the students of today understand and aware so that they do the right things to keep the balance between humankind and nature. There may never be another opportunity for mankind!
