I am a leisure geek, trying hard to find time for activities that I associate with leisure: travel with family, time with my grandchildren, time with my wife, time with my parent, and finally time for myself — ‘alone time’.
As an entrepreneur during the early stages of my business, the priority was to get a foot in the door and give your business’s heartbeat a start. Post that, it is about growing the business in stages, and just when we arrive at a stage when, may be, we can get some leisure for ourselves — myself and my wife — we would have less energy, less adventurism, and may be the other constraints that quietly add as baggage to your personality through the years of building a business; the same would that have happened to my wife.
Just when we thought we were getting closer to taking a vacation, we have the pandemic outbreak, and hence the need to push out our plans to whenever things get back to normal.
We are still fondly looking forward to a day when we can be away for a month or so, exploring new locations, meeting new people etc. Every modestly successful first generation entrepreneur would aspire for the same.
I am 58 years old, and will retire in two years. So, maybe, that’s the best time for a real leisure of a couple of months.
