We need talent to deal with the unpredictable! Our education systems, particularly school education systems, have always been too well organised and so very predictable. The education systems are driven by the curriculum frameworks, national education standards, clearly defined learning outcomes, etc.
The recent events that the world is seeing, be it the pandemic, natural disasters, psychological impact of global warming, geopolitical conflicts, border disputes, the new racism, strikes, political realignments that we would have least expected, etc., were all unexpected and unpredictable.
How are we coping with it?
Anger, resentment, fatigue, negativity, fear, a sense of inevitability..?
Instead it should be courage, unity, new energy, positivity, creativity, constructive approaches, dialogue, balance etc.
We are obviously seeing more of the former.
I have wondered why.
The very least we can do is learn our lessons from these happenings and manifest them into wisdom: the new wisdom that can help us create systems, education, environment, behaviour, tolerance to diversity, pathway to peaceful living, individual and community wellbeing…
I sincerely hope that we can use the wisdom to envision a better education system for our next generations where they can discover and pursue their ‘purpose in life’.
